Earthly Liturgies Should Be Directed Heavenward
Occasionally I shall punctuate my posts with examples of what some may call 'ideal' liturgcal music (c.f. Sacrosanctum Concilium, paragraphs 8 and 116).
This, Sicut Cervus, is perhaps the most well known/loved motet by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (c.1525 – 1594), sung superbly by the Choir of Westminster Cathedral, London.
